Danny Jay Bell and Jenann Hammack Bell Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Scurry County, Texas
According to local reports, a man and wife were killed in a motorcycle-pickup crash along State Highway 208 in Scurry County, Texas. The accident occurred around 7:29 p.m. when 56-year-old Danny Jay Bell and 56-year-old Jenann Hammack Bell were killed after police say a pickup turned in front of them. The pickup, driven by 46-year-old Ronald Phillip Kincheloe was turning across the highway into a private drive. Danny and Jenann Bell were pronounced dead at the scene.
Commentary I just previously wrote about how dangerous accidents with motorcycles can be and then this terrible accident occurs. A third party investigation, aside from the police report should be conducted. From there and corroborating with the report, fault can be determined. If the news feed is correct and the driver of the pickup turned in front of the couple, he could face fault in the incident, and ultimately could be a named defendant in wrongful death claims. Typically for a claim like this a few things need to be found. There needs to be negligence found in the actions or inaction of a liable party (this is where the investigation comes into play). There also needs to be surviving members of the victim(s) who have suffered a quantifiable financial loss as a result of the death. Certainly I am taking a shot in the dark here, but I hope my diatribe explains fatal accidents are never as cut and dry as the news may portray them. These incidents involve multiple investigations, insurance claims, and aggressive attorneys looking to limit damages or throw out fault altogether.
