Pontiac, IL — A woman was killed on I-55 this past Monday afternoon (September 16, 2013) after her car was in an accident with an 18-wheeler truck. The accident happened at about 4:00 p.m. on Monday and the victim was identified as Galesburg resident Anne Sperry, 35.
Seperry was reportedly driving a minivan south along I-55 near the 197 exit when she lost control for reasons still unknown, crossing over the median. Her minivan then crashed into an 18-wheeler in the northbound lanes, which killed her immediately.
No other injuries were reported and it was unclear if anyone was in Sperry’s minivan at the time of the wreck.
