Orient, OH — The fatal two-car accident along Harrisburg Pike last Saturday night (September 7, 2013) is still being investigated, but authorities have identified 9-year old Elijah Love as one of the three people killed. Love was killed when his family’s vehicle was hit head-on by another driver along the Harrisburg Pike, just southwest of Columbus.
According to the news reports, 37-year old James Love and his wife, Amanda Love, both 37, were driving their car north on the Harrisburg Pike at about 11:20 p.m. Their children, Jordan Gilliland, 15, Elijah, 9, and Aliyah, 7, were all riding as passengers.
As their car was headed north on the Pike (Route 62), a southbound car lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic, crashing into their car. Two men from the other car were killed along with Elijah, while Amanda was seriously injured. James was taken to a nearby hospital as well and was listed in stable condition.
The ABC Channel 6 News reported that alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the wreck, but there have been no confirming reports from the police yet. The driver of the car that lost control was also seriously injured and she was identified as Melissa Robbins, 32.
