Parrish, FL — Authorities identified Robert Hoelzer, 49, of Valrico as the driver who was killed last Sunday morning (July 28, 2013) after a single-car accident along U.S. 301. Police said that the wreck happened near Moccasin Wallow Road at about 3:30 a.m.
According to their reports, Hoelzer was driving south along U.S. 301 early Sunday when he swerved and lost control along a curve in the roadway just north of Moccasin Wallow Road. His car swerved off the road and drove onto the shoulder, where it veered down an embankment and flipped over.
Hoelzer was not wearing a seat belt and was killed immediately in the accident.
Further investigation was expected and it was also alleged that alcohol may have been involved. Police have not yet made any confirmations, however.
