Drunk driving accidents happen far too often in Texas and the devastation that they cause affects all parties involved in such accidents. While the alleged drunk driver will face criminal charges he may also be civilly liable for the death that occurred. Furthermore if he became intoxicated at a bar or restaurant in Texas Texas dram shop law will hold a negligent alcohol-serving establishment partially liable for any accidents that occur resulting in injury or loss of life as a result of their negligent actions which can include over-serving a patron such that they surpass the legal blood alcohol content level of .08% or allowing an intoxicated individual to drive off of their premises. In such accidents an independent investigation may prove beneficial to the family that has lost a loved one so that all liable parties can be held rightfully accountable for their negligent behavior that resulted in the loss of their loved one.
