AJ Blain Killed by Fatal Helicopter Crash near Dove Creek, CO
Dove Creek, CO — Local news reports have identified the helicopter pilot who was killed on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. AJ Blain was killed near Dove Creek in southwest Colorado after his helicopter experienced an unknown accident and crashed.
The accident happened near Dove Creek and the helicopter was owned by Billings Flying Service, but no more specifics were detailed.
The reports noted that some witnesses claimed to hear a “popping” sound in the moments before Blain’s helicopter went down. The accident is still under investigation and it was confirmed that Blain was using the chopper to help energy company Kinder Morgan do seismic exploration in the area.
