Albemarle, NC — A fatal accident between an 18-wheeler and a minivan at the intersection of U.S. Highway 52 and NC 24-27 last Friday morning in Albemarle left one woman dead and four injured. Jennifer Fesperman, 32, was killed and the injured were listed as Kenneth, 47, Jessica, 17, Jordan, 14, and Phillip Fesperman, 11.

According to the news reports, Jessica Fesperman was driving the minivan along NC 24-27 with the others as passengers. As she entered U.S. 52’s intersection with NC 24-27, their minivan was hit by Larry McIntyre’s 18-wheeler truck that was westbound on NC 24-27. The collision left 32-year old Jennifer Fesperman dead at the scene and Kenneth, Jessica, Jordan, and Phillip hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries.

Kenneth was later listed in critical condition along with Jordan, but Phillip was reported to be in fair condition. Jessica’s status has not been updated, news reports said.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but it was suspected that Fesperman’s minivan may have crossed over the center lines of the highway.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
