Construction worker killed and seven others injured at Rice University in Houston, TX.
On June 19, 2008 a construction worker lost his life when a section of concrete wall collapsed on him and six other workers at Rice University in Houston, TX. The accident occurred as high winds ripped through the area. A large section of wall and scaffolding collapsed onto the men below. Several of the men were able to free themselves but four had to be removed from the rubble by rescue workers.
The name of the worker who died in the accident has not yet been released. Six of the workers were treated at Ben Taub and Memorial Hermann hospitals and a seventh was treated at the scene. All of the injured men are expected to survive.
OSHA is conducting a full investigation.
