Six-month-old Evelyn Garcia killed and 13 injured in traffic accident in Hillsboro, TX.
On Monday, September 6, six-month-old Evelyn Kate
Garcia was killed and thirteen others were injured in a one-vehicle accident in
Hillsboro, TX.The accident happened at
roughly 2:00 a.m. on Interstate 35.According
to early reports, a family from Dallas was travelling to a family reunion in a
van when the crash happened.Allegedly,
the driver of the van lost control and the van flipped over several times.Police currently believe that a tire blowout
caused the driver to lose control.It is
believed that Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.The thirteen people who were injured were
taken to local hospitals for treatment.As of Monday afternoon, five of them had been released.The rest are still receiving treatment, but
their injuries are not life-threatening.Police continue to investigate the crash, as they try to figure out
exactly how it happened.
