Luis Jilote-Lopez killed in workplace electrocution accident at swimming pool in Riverside County, CA.
On Thursday, August 19, 27-year-old Luis Miguel
Jilote-Lopez was killed after being electrocuted while at work in Riverside
County, CA.Jilote-Lopez was working at
the Palm Desert Country Club on Country Club Drive when the incident
occurred.Local reports state that, at
approximately 11:00 a.m., Jilote-Lopez was standing at the edge of the pool,
holding an extension cord, when the cord came in contact with a metal handrail,
causing Jilote-Lopez to be electrocuted.Security guards witnessed the accident and performed CPR until
paramedics arrived, at which point he was taken to Eisenhower Medical
Center.However, Jilote-Lopez did not
survive his injuries, and he was pronounced dead at approximately 11:45
a.m.Police and other officials are
investigating the accident, trying to determine exactly how it happened.
