Michael Haslett dies after being hit by lightning while working on ranch in Lemhi County, ID.
On Tuesday, August 10, a storm in Lemhi County, ID
claimed the life of 37-year-old Michael Haslett.The incident happened at the Hot Springs
Ranch owned by the University of Idaho, where Haslett was employed as a ranch
worker.Early reports state that, just
before 4:00 p.m., a wild weather pattern including rain, hail, and lightning
moved into the area around the ranch.Haslett and a few other workers were sent to herd the ranch’s cattle,
when a bolt of lightning allegedly struck Haslett.Two co-workers saw the lightning strike, and
went to Haslett’s aid, but they could not help him, and Haslett was killed at
the scene.
