Robert Martin and David Castro killed in motorcycle accident
On May 5, 2008
two men died in a motorcycle accident in west Fort Worth.
The driver, 25-year-old Robert Martin, died at the scene. The passenger,
24-year-old David Castro, was transported to HarrisMethodistMedicalCenter where he died shortly thereafter.
Authorities say the accident occurred as the pair was
racing another motorcycle down Camp Bowie West. The driver lost control and
struck a curb sending the pair flying into the parking lot of a Taco Bueno
restaurant.
A note from attorney E. Michael Grossman:
This is a clear example of how easy it is for a little
bit of fun to turn deadly. Based on the information provided it would appear
that the family of Mr. Castro would have a valid wrongful death claim. In most
cases, when a passenger dies in an accident there will be a pretty good chance
that a successful recovery can be made. In an example as extreme as this where
the driver was street racing, that makes liability that more discernable. I
would strongly recommend that the family of Mr. Castro should consider hiring
an experienced attorney to assist in this matter.
It is a shame that these two young men lost their
lives and I wish their families the best.
