Raymond Blair Killed on I-20 in Fatal 18-Wheeler Accident in Penwell, TX
Penwell, TX — According to local reports, Texas DPS troopers identified Raymond Lowell Blair, 61, of Monahans as the man who was killed in an 18-wheeler accident on Tuesday evening, April 23, 2013. The accident happened on westbound I-20 near Penwell at mile marker 100.
Blair was westbound on I-20 in a pickup truck at approximately 8730 when he lost control for unknown reasons and swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting an eastbound 18-wheeler. The wreck left him fatally injured and he passed away a short time later.
The 18-wheeler’s driver, was identified as Oscar Maynez and he was uninjured. The accident remains under the DPS’ investigation.
