72-year-old Flavia Estrello killed by hit-and-run driver
On May 5 2008 72-year-old Flavia Estrello was killed by a hit-and-run driver in El Paso, TX. Estrello was pushing her two-year-old great grand daughter Aliana Gonzalez in her stroller when they were struck by a car while attempting to cross the intersection of Cross Street near Quail Avenue. Both were taken to Thomason Hospital where Estrello died shortly thereafter. Gonzales was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the car, possibly a Ford Mustang, fled the scene and did not stop to render aid. This marks the 20th traffic death of the year and the second pedestrian death of the year in El Paso.
