Scene of the Accident
Lubbock PD said that the pickup truck was headed west on Kent Street near N. Avenue Q at about 1:40 a.m. when the driver hit a steep incline at the railroad tracks, going airborne in the process. The truck then landed off the road and crashed into a light pole, leaving the driver and Brown with fatal injuries. Paramedics responded to the scene, but both men died in the accident. The name of the driver wasn’t released immediately, but reports said that he was a 22-year old student at Texas Tech as well.
