1-year-old David Hernandez killed in hit-and-run accident

On May 3, 2008 In the Pleasant Grove subdivision of Dallas, TX. 1-year-old David Hernandez lost his life in a tragic accident.

The events occurred on Pleasant Vista Drive, near the intersection of Elam Drive and Masters Drive. Hernandez’ mother stopped to shop at a residential garage sale. Another shopper pulled her truck partially onto the grass where young David Hernandez was playing. When the woman attempted to leave the garage sale she drove her pick-up directly over the child pinning his head under her front tire.

The child’s mother began to scream for the woman to move her truck. Upon realizing what occurred the woman fled from the scene in her truck. Details about the woman are sketchy. An eye witness provided Dallas Police with a license plate number that did not match any known records and vague details regarding the color and make of the truck.

David Hernandez was transported to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and then Children's Medical Center Dallas. David died later that day.
